Introduction

You have entered the official website of Konice, the second largest town in Prostejov district, which has six parts (Konice,Čunín, Křemenec, Ladín,Nová Dědina, Runářov), a population of 3000 (in the year 2003), and an area of 2,447 hectares. Since 1.1.2003 Konice has been an authorized municipal office for an area of 17.805 hectares with a population of 11.533 citizens (in the year 2003).

Konice – one of five towns in the Prostějov district – is situated in the northern part of the Drahanská vrchovina (Drahany highlands) in the valley of the Jesenka stream. The first written record of Konice dates from 1st September 1200.

Konice lies in the North-Western part of the Prostějov district amid the gentle hilly landscape of the Drahanská vrchovina with scenic fields, meadows and woods.
